Dan Hansen
Dan Hansen is VP-Communications Strategist for STCU, where he has shaped a media relations approach that is proactive and never says “no comment.” Prior to joining the credit union team in 2009, he was a reporter and editor for The Spokesman-Review, Spokane’s daily newspaper. Over the years, his reporting beats included education, natural resources, politics and local government. He is co-author of two guidebooks, “Paddle Routes of the Inland Northwest” and “Paddling Washington.”
First elected in 2014, Dan serves on the board for West Valley School District. He has presented on media relations and interviewing at statewide gatherings of the Washington State School Directors Association, and for many years served on WSSDA’s statewide Legislative Committee. He has also participated in advocacy efforts on behalf of credit unions at the state and federal level.
