Today, people are cobbling together multiple apps and banking relationships to move money in the moment while attempting to manage longer term financial goals needs.  While fintechs (and even big banks) are boosting capabilities to meet the need, the question remains:  where does this leave credit unions?  In this research-inspired session, you’ll learn how looking at your value proposition in a whole new way can help revive dormant member relationships.  We’ll discover how engaging through daily, micro-interactions – while delivering critical financial guidance along the way, can complement your credit union’s mission, and catalyze growth.

In this session you will…

  1. Discover how daily engagement, embedded convenience, and financial guidance are at the heart of member centricity.
  2. Gain a behavioral science view into consumers’ unique financial attitudes and payment preferences
  3. Understand the opportunity your credit union has to capture long-term value (and live your mission) through payments

The product-centric paradigm of siloed delivery has given way to dynamic constellations of value delivered through continuous and relevant interactions, engagements, and solutions.

Are you the leader who will drive member primacy and move from being the Chief Marketing Officer driving expense to the Chief Growth Officer delivering topline earnings, membership, and liquidity? In this session, you’ll learn how to deeply understand your member, flip the funnel, and be the personal financial operating system of today’s consumer, while winning a highly valued seat at the strategy table.

Breakout 2 : An Inside Look: Trends and Best Practices in Naming Rights, NIL, and Sponsorships
Location: Solano

Speakers:

Credit unions are one of the fastest-growing sponsorship and naming rights categories in the industry for sports teams and universities, especially due to expanding partnership efforts and increasing budgets. But despite the hundreds of credit union sponsorship deals, there has been very little accurate information on trends and best practices in this sector.

With data and insights culled from two studies exploring credit unions’ current attitudes toward sponsorships, we will discuss the key trends that are driving credit unions to explore and activate this essential marketing tool. We will also look at how credit unions can maximize their sponsorship investments and understand critical best practices when negotiating and executing partnerships by reviewing the following topics:

  1. Why engage in sponsorships?
  2. What is the anatomy of a naming rights deal?
  3. How do you measure the ROI?

Whether you have a current naming rights partnership or are new to the sponsorship space, and irrespective of your asset size, we will demonstrate how to leverage partnerships as part of your overall marketing mix and provide benchmarking research and actionable insights to decision-makers who support and influence future partnership marketing activities.

Speaker: Corey Wrinn, Managing Director at Rivel

After completing our latest round of Banking Benchmarks, the results will surprise you! Banks and credit unions often gear their spending toward capturing these up-and-coming customers, but do you really know what products and services they want? Join us and we’ll share what they said in actual interviews!

The younger generations are more likely to currently use national banks and also more likely to be unhappy there and look for another option, however credit unions are more unknown as an option for this group. While their motivations for switching banks is clear – fees, rates, technology – their reasons for staying at their current bank are built on a strong relationship including proactivity, prioritizing financial well-being, responsiveness, and value for fees.

We’ll show you how to tailor messages about branding awareness and product announcements to these younger generations, highlighting their key pain points and ideal channels.
