Commercial Video
Paid video commercials that blend creativity, strategy, and production quality to effectively connect with and engage audiences. Results required.
Community Engagement
Marketing efforts that demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility, giving back, local support, and community involvement. Results are not required.
Culture and Internal Campaign
Marketing initiatives that inspire, engage, and strengthen a company's internal culture and team. Results are not required.
Digital Advertising
Digital marketing including display ads, paid search ads, mobile app advertising, push notifications, text messages, etc. Separate categories for Social Media and Email Marketing. Results required.
Digital and Print Newsletter
Digitally or physically distributed newsletter including 2-5 samples within the series. Results are not required.
Email Marketing
A single email or series of emails that deliver a promotional or informational message and demonstrate a mobile-first approach. Results required.
Financial Wellness
Initiatives that help individuals or communities improve their financial health and empowerment through educational resources, tools, programs, or support services. Results are not required.
Innovative Marketing
Unique approaches to marketing that challenge conventional methods, deliver exceptional results, and redefine industry standards with fresh, forward-thinking ideas. Results required.
Logo
New logo for your credit union, its subsidiaries, products, or promotions. Results are not required.
MAC-nificent Humor
Campaign that stands out due to its clever use of humor in visuals, copy, or concept, and creates a memorable impression to enhance the brand’s identity. Results required.
Multi-Channel Campaign
A campaign that includes at least three touchpoints working together to support a single initiative. Photos of larger campaign deliverables are welcome, and results must be provided. Results required.
Non-Commercial Video
Videos created for internal communication, brand awareness, or informational purposes. Results are not required.
Out-of-Home Advertising
Outdoor media inclusive of billboards, EV charging station ads, bus and car wraps, ATM wraps, banners, and other signage. Results are not required.
Product Development
Impactful launch of new product or refreshed credit, debit, or ATM card design. Results required.
Public Relations
Impactful one-time or ongoing PR campaign or crisis management effort that raised awareness for your credit union’s mission and values. Results are not required.
Rebrand
Transformation in a brand's identity, messaging, and overall concept including updates to logos, taglines, and any other elements that refresh or redefine the brand's image. Results are not required.
Shoestring Superstar (New!)
A marketing initiative that achieved standout results with little‑to‑no costs through smart strategy, creativity, and resourceful execution. Results required.
Social Media
Organic or paid social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other social platforms. Results can include reach, comments, shares, etc. Results required.
Sponsorship and Partnership Marketing
Marketing initiatives that leverage collaboration with external organizations, influencers, local celebrities, etc. that drive mutual growth and strengthen brand connections. Results required.
Targeted Marketing
Efforts focused on effectively targeting a segment within a credit union’s membership. Segments may be based on life stage, age, gender, ethnicity, or other characteristics. Results required.
Unboxed Brilliance (New!)
Celebrates creative work that doesn’t fit well into another category but stands out for its originality, quality, and thoughtful execution. Results not required.
Website Transformation
Redesigned website with demonstrated creativity and innovation. Results are not required.
Asset Size Groups
To provide more meaningful benchmarking, each of the above categories are broken down into the following asset size groups, allowing organizations to be evaluated alongside peers of similar scale:
- Less than $750 Million
- $750 Million to $2 Billion
- Over $2 Billion
Asset size is captured within the submission form. Categories and asset-size groups are reviewed and calibrated annually by the Marketing Association of Credit Unions Board.
